About Seeta
My name is Seeta Brar. I was born and raised in Canada, but with my husband, daughter, son, and cats, I have made Texas home. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a board-approved clinical supervisor in Texas.
In my personal time, I love reading, visiting new coffee shops, finding ways to get my 10,000 steps, and exploring new creative hobbies — watercolors, crochet, diamond art, and doodle art.
Clinical Background
I have 10+ years of experience as a medical and healthcare social worker and in providing therapy to adults managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, post-partum mental health, relationship challenges, boundary-setting, anger management, and self-esteem. I have provided psychosocial case management, crisis intervention, group counseling, psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, care coordination, and social work clinical supervision in acute and post-acute settings.
In addition to my LCSW, I hold certifications in ADHD, Anxiety, and Mindfulness Training.
Therapy Approach
I believe knowledge is power. My therapeutic style centers on compassion, CBT, and a task-focused approach — we do not simply talk about problems, we actively develop coping skills and boundaries. I take a holistic approach that addresses the unique challenges adults face with brain fog, decision fatigue, nervous system dysregulation, and emotional regulation. I recognize that for many women, feelings of anxiety, depression, and apathy are not always "just in your head" — I incorporate the hormone-mind connection and explore how body shifts (postpartum, perimenopause, postmenopause) affect mental health.
Supervision Philosophy
Education and learning are my passions. My supervision style draws on strengths-based and humanistic perspectives, cognitive-behavioral models, developmental models, positive psychology, and person-in-environment theory. Our sessions focus on clinical assessment, treatment planning, evidence-based interventions, documentation, and Texas LCSW exam preparation — all in a learning environment built on trust, mutual respect, and honesty.
Continuing Education
It is this same commitment to learning that led me to develop New Leaf's continuing education courses. I source content from academic journals, professional reports, and evidence-based literature, covering mental health, ethics, health, and families — curated to enhance your social work practice, values, and professional identity.
